Deciding on your future career does not have to be complicated

We understand this is a stressful time for you and picking a career when you are a young adult may feel like a shot in the dark, but there is help available.

The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce developed a program aimed at generating awareness and helping students understand the immense career opportunities within the advanced manufacturing sector.

Advanced Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 refer to the growing use of smart technologies in factories around the world, including the digitization and automation of manufacturing processes.

That may not sound exciting but consider a career that encompass robotics, the industrial internet of things, virtual reality, 3D printing and artificial intelligence. These are just a few of the areas where students can find exciting and well-paid jobs.

Advanced manufacturing has led to technically advanced and smart factories and has opened numerous career opportunities for students interested in a technical environment. This is an exciting time for youth, who are naturally tech-savvy, to work in a changing and fast-paced industry.

How do you know if you are right for a career in advanced manufacturing? Well, you can start by asking yourself some easy questions:

·       Are you a hands-on learner?

·       Do you like to tinker with things?

·       Do you like to solve challenges and complex problems?

·       Are you curious about how gaming systems or web applications work?

If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions and would like to learn more, visit Forge Ahead Atlantic and take our quiz to see where you fit in the dynamic world of advanced manufacturing.
