What skills are needed for a career in advanced manufacturing?

Hey students, have you heard of advanced manufacturing?

Advanced Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 refer to the growing use of smart technologies in factories around the world, including the digitization and automation of manufacturing processes. Industry 4.0 has led to technically advanced factories and has resulted in numerous exciting career opportunities for students who are interested in a technical environment.

There is a common misconception that’s today youth must leave the Atlantic Provinces to find exciting and meaningful work. This could not be further from the truth. Students graduating from post-secondary schools have many options to work in high tech industries that are exciting, cutting edge, and well paying.

Right now, in Atlantic Canada there are numerous companies that need creative and innovative thinkers. We are no longer talking about manual labour and in many cases tablets and smartphones have replaced large and heavy machinery. Manufacturing today is a rapidly developing sector, driven by technology and innovation and offers highly skilled and well-paying careers than are not gender specific.

Are you a hands-on person?

Are you curious about how websites and video games work?
